If you visit Hvar during Holy Week you have the rare opportunity to participate in centuries-old and impressive religious ceremonies. We draw your attention to the Maundy Thursday procession "Following the Cross" ("Za Križen" in Croatian) which has been held in Jelsa and the nearby villages for five centuries, and the pilgrimage to the Holy Sepulchre, taking place in various churches in Hvar and evening procession on the main square on Good Friday.
